The 400 Bronco has a little more than 400 horsepower – 405bhp to be exact – which is 75bhp more than the current factory range-topper, the 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 with 330bhp.
In Hennessey's motor, torque increases by 88lb ft to a total of 503lb ft.
The usual suspects were used to achieve it: an improved ECU and exhaust, as well as a high-flow air induction system.
Hennessey claims it will go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, which isn't bad.
The Hennessey Off-Road package includes 35-inch off-road tyres mounted on 18-inch wheels, redesigned VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers, retractable side steps, emblems, and even embroidered headrests.
Everything is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty, and it retains all of the original Bronco's modes and off-road capabilities (which, as it turns out, are rather good).
This year, Hennessey will only produce 200 cars, in two or four doors, with or without a soft top.
The price? $24,950, not to mention the cost of a new Bronco.
“Whether on or off the road, our consumers want more power, and our VelociRaptor 400 Bronco delivers,” says John Hennessey, the company's president.
