At first glance this looks like another savage Black Series — but under that long hood RENNtech has built a straight-line rocket: a dry-sumped 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with a flat-plane crank now producing a staggering 1,051 bhp and 831 lb-ft of torque.
That output lifts the AMG GT Black Series well beyond factory territory. While a stock Black Series does 0–62 mph in about 3.2 seconds with a 202 mph top speed, RENNtech’s package trims the sprint to roughly 3.0 seconds or less and pushes the governed top speed to an eye-watering 219 mph.
What RENNtech changed
The transformation isn’t cosmetic — it’s all under the hood and in the drivetrain. The key upgrades include:
- Bigger, bespoke turbochargers for much higher boost capacity
- Dry-sumped 4.0L V8 with a flat-plane crank for faster revving and improved oil control under high g
- High-flow stainless-steel exhaust system to reduce backpressure and sharpen the sound
- Upgraded air filters & intake plumbing to improve airflow and response
- Tuned Transmission Control Unit (TCU) to let the seven-speed gearbox handle the extra torque and optimise shift logic
How it drives
The result is a Black Series that still behaves like the track-focused monster it’s meant to be — but with ballistic straight-line speed. Expect harder acceleration, a louder and fuller exhaust note, and a transmission that holds gears longer and downshifts with more urgency thanks to the TCU recalibration.
RENNtech’s work is a reminder that even the most extreme factory supercars can be dialled up further — assuming you’re comfortable with the tradeoffs (cost, warranty and daily usability).
