Unveiled in 2018, the McLaren Senna GTR was engineered as McLaren’s fastest track-only model outside of Formula 1. Built around the lightweight MonoCage III carbon-fiber monocoque, the 2020 Senna GTR tips the scales at just 2,619 pounds—22 pounds lighter than the already extreme road-going McLaren Senna.
Thanks to its wider tracks and aggressive aerodynamic package, the GTR generates up to 2,205 pounds of downforce at 155 mph—442 pounds more than the street version. This immense grip makes it one of the most capable track hypercars ever built.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle. Active aerodynamics—featuring a DRS-equipped rear wing, reworked front splitter, and massive rear diffuser—maximize performance on the circuit.
The suspension is derived from the McLaren 720S GT3 race car, utilizing double wishbones at all four corners, four-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars for precision handling.
Staggered center-lock wheels (19-inch front, 20-inch rear) wear Pirelli PZero tires. Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic rotors paired with bespoke MSO blue aluminum calipers—six-piston units up front and four-piston in the rear—backed by a revised brake booster for maximum control.
Advanced traction control, stability control, and ABS systems are adapted from the contemporary McLaren Senna road car, ensuring a balance between raw speed and drivability.
Finished in striking MSO Solar Yellow, chassis #73 features a bespoke vinyl livery inspired by Ayrton Senna’s iconic helmet design.
MSO upgrades include a custom electroform badge, unique body paint, blue calipers, aero blades, and door struts. Track-ready hardware adds a roof scoop, polycarbonate windshield and windows, side air intakes, and pneumatic air jacks for quick servicing.
An advanced anti-collision system with rearview cameras and radar enhances situational awareness during high-speed laps.
Inside, the cabin features GTR-branded Sabelt fixed-back carbon-fiber seats trimmed in black Alcantara, secured with six-point harnesses. The interior also includes an integrated roll cage, fire suppression system, pit-to-car radio, and titanium-nitride pedals with LM logos, complemented by leather door pulls.
A race-inspired multi-function steering yoke houses paddle shifters and a digital data logger with integrated shift lights. Despite its track-focused design, the car retains air conditioning and a passenger seat for extended sessions. The digital odometer shows just 874 kilometers (543 miles).
This 2020 McLaren Senna GTR #73 of 75 built is currently offered by a selling dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona, complete with its factory build sheet and bill of sale. With ultra-low mileage, MSO customizations, and extreme rarity, it stands as one of the most collectible McLarens ever presented at auction.
