Bentley is set to unveil a significant update for its Continental GT range, replacing the classic W-12 engine with a cutting-edge hybrid powertrain centered around a V-8 engine.

This new powertrain will debut in the updated Continental GT Speed, which Bentley confirmed will be revealed on June 25. The GT Speed will maintain the top speed of 208 mph, matching the outgoing model's performance, which boasts a 650 hp twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine. The updated model will offer approximately 50 miles of electric range, though it's unclear if this figure is based on European or U.S. standards.

Enhanced Performance and Handling

Beyond the powertrain, the updated Continental GT will feature several advanced performance and handling improvements. These include a revised all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, and an electronic anti-roll system. The inclusion of dual-valve dampers will allow for adjustments in both rebound and compression, providing a broader range between comfort and handling control.

Updated Design Features

Camouflaged prototypes have been spotted testing for over a year, and teaser photos reveal some of the upcoming styling changes. The new model will feature single-element headlights, similar to those on the Bacalar coachbuilt speedster, replacing the current dual-element design. The oval taillights have been elongated and slimmed down for a more refined look.

Arrival and Availability

The current Continental GT range debuted in the 2019 model year, and the updated range, including the GT Speed, is expected to arrive in the U.S. for the 2025 model year. An updated Continental GT Convertible range is also anticipated soon.
