A rare and heavily modified 1990 Rover Mini Mayfair, known as the "Twini," is back on the auction block at Bring a Trailer.
Originally built by UK-based tuner Z-Cars, the Twini is no ordinary Mini. Instead of its original small-displacement engine, it was fitted with two Yamaha R1 motorcycle engines, each paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. Together, they give the tiny car an explosive power-to-weight ratio rarely seen in vehicles of its size—making it one of the most extreme engine swaps ever attempted on a classic British car.

The upgrades didn't stop at the engines. Z-Cars equipped the Mini with a limited-slip differential, tubular subframes, a full roll cage, carbon-fiber and fiberglass body panels, and 13-inch wheels. The car also features adjustable coilovers, disc brakes on all four corners, Cobra racing seats, Sabelt harnesses, a Sparco steering wheel, and a MoTeC digital display—making it as track-ready as it is unique.
The Twini was imported to the United States in 2021 and last changed hands on Bring a Trailer in December 2023. It's now listed again, currently located in Arizona, with bidding already underway.

At the time of writing, the high bid sits at $1,500, though that figure is expected to climb quickly before the auction closes.
This one-of-a-kind creation blends the charm of a classic Mini with modern performance upgrades, combining the heritage of British motoring with the raw power of superbike engines. For enthusiasts of extreme modified cars, the Twini represents the pinnacle of automotive creativity—a testament to what's possible when tuners push boundaries.
