Singer Vehicle Design has earned a global reputation for redefining what it means to reimagine the Porsche 911, and its latest project—aptly named the 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer—returns to where it all began. This time, Singer pays homage to the coveted Super Sport models of the 1980s, cars known for their naturally aspirated thrills and chassis upgrades that transformed the everyday 911 into a driver's dream.
Rather than following in the tire tracks of the extreme Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) or the Classic Turbo, this new build channels the more understated elegance and versatility of Singer’s early commissions. But don’t mistake this for a step back. If anything, it’s a more refined evolution.
Dual Identity: Touring or Track, You Choose
In true Singer fashion, customization takes center stage. Buyers can choose between a sleek touring appearance, like the Celeste Passalacqua finish shown in launch photos, or go all-in with a track-focused design, as demonstrated by the vivid Giallo Segnale version. Can’t decide? You don’t have to—Singer lets you purchase both styles, with interchangeable components that come packaged in custom flight cases. It’s a tailor-made experience that goes beyond paint and wheels.
Bespoke Interiors and Endless Customization
Inside, the options are just as imaginative. One example features a bold Mars Pink exterior matched with velvet corduroy upholstery. Another is equipped with aggressive racing seats and a structural cross brace. Want carbon-ceramic brakes? Tick that box. Pop-up auxiliary headlights? They’re here too, folding flush into the carbon bonnet for a stealthy aesthetic.
The level of detail is astonishing, from hand-built gauges that rival luxury watchmaking to the use of premium materials throughout. This car isn’t just a restomod—it’s a hand-crafted tribute to precision and personality.
Under the Skin: New Tech, Same Soul
Beneath its retro-inspired skin lies cutting-edge tech. For the first time in a Singer, a 4.0-liter flat-six engine features variable valve timing, delivering better drivability at low speeds without compromising high-rev thrills. With 420 horsepower on tap and a redline of 8,000 rpm, this six-speed manual beast is engineered with input from Cosworth, especially in combustion chamber design and valve timing efficiency.
Also debuting is a four-valve water-cooled head, a first for Singer. The rest of the engine remains true to tradition with air-cooled cylinders, keeping that authentic 911 spirit alive.
Strengthened by Red Bull Advanced Technologies
Singer has also partnered with Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) to enhance the chassis, dramatically improving torsional rigidity. Once the donor 964 shell is stripped back to its monocoque, RBAT reinforces it using high-strength composites and steel. The result? A rock-solid foundation that enhances performance and longevity.
Add in four-way adjustable dampers, a nose-lift system, and multi-mode drive settings—including Road, Sport, Track, Off-Road, and Weather—plus Bosch ESP, and you’ve got a 911 that’s more capable than ever, whether carving canyons or facing inclement conditions.
Global Support, Limited Numbers
Testing for the Carrera Coupe has taken place at legendary venues such as Nardo and the Nürburgring. Singer's expanded Global Partner Network ensures worldwide support for owners, making the experience of owning and maintaining this 911 more seamless than ever.
Only 100 units will be built, making it even rarer than Singer's original Classic series, which totaled 450. Pricing is strictly on a per-build basis and depends on individual specifications. With donor 964 prices still holding strong and Singer’s reputation for meticulous craftsmanship, expect a starting point well into the six-figure range, potentially £500,000 or more for a well-specced example.
