The 2026 Shelby Super Snake is back, and it's packing a serious punch! We're talking 830 horsepower with the available Whipple supercharger. You get even more power than the Mustang GTD, but at almost half the cost. This car is a limited run, so if you're a collector or just love a fast ride with great upgrades for the track, this could be it.
The 2026 Shelby Super Snake produces 830 horsepower with the Whipple supercharger option, exceeding the Mustang GTD's 815 hp while starting at $175,885.
Shelby American just showed off its 2026 Super Snake, a Mustang that packs a serious punch without costing as much as you might think.
If you go for the Whipple supercharger, this thing cranks out 830 horsepower—more than the Ford Mustang GTD, which has 815 hp—and it starts at $175,885.
What It Offers
The Super Snake features a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with optional Whipple supercharger delivering 830 hp on regular 93-octane fuel, with upgraded cooling and Borla exhaust system.
You can get the Super Snake with a couple of engine choices. The base model has a 5.0-liter V-8 with 480 horsepower, same as the regular Mustang GT.
But if you want the real deal, get the Whipple supercharger, which takes it all the way up to 830 hp. The crazy part is, it does this using regular 93-octane gas, so no need for any fancy fuel.
To handle all that extra power, Shelby gave the Super Snake a better cooling system with a new radiator and heat exchanger. There's also a Borla exhaust, tires that grip better, and improved brake rotors. The regular calipers are still there, though.
How It Looks and Handles
The Super Snake features lightweight carbon-fiber hood and fenders, magnesium wheels, and tuned suspension to manage aerodynamic loads from the rear wing at high speeds.
The Super Snake looks a lot like the pricier Super Snake R, with a light hood, wide carbon-fiber fenders, and magnesium wheels.
Shelby also tweaked the suspension, so it can manage the added power and the way the new rear wing affects the air. This should make it handle better and stay stable when you're going fast.
How Much and How Many?
The 2026 Super Snake starts at $175,885, which is about $50,000 less than the Super Snake R. Even though it gives you a lot of power for the price, Shelby American is only making 300 of them for the U.S.
That means it's going to be a rare Mustang that collectors and fans will really want.
In Short
The 2026 Shelby Super Snake keeps up Shelby American's reputation for making awesome muscle cars that are at home on the track or the street.
If you're a Mustang fan, this is your shot at owning a rare, super-powered ride without spending as much as some of the other crazy-powerful Mustangs out there.
