Gran Turismo’s Vision Gran Turismo program, launched in 2013, invites manufacturers to craft boundary-pushing concepts for gamers.
Instead of a space-age prototype, Vauxhall chose its most familiar nameplate, Corsa, turning the UK’s best-selling B-segment hatch into a beacon for the electric GSE sub-brand.
“If you think about what’s the most agile car, it’s a small car,” says design chief Mark Adams. “What are we most well-known for? The Corsa. So let’s do something Corsa-sized, but on super steroids.”
Look past the badge; this is a very different Corsa: lower, wider, and much meaner. Blistered arches wear blade-like vanes, working with a deep front splitter to convert airflow into serious downforce. The white, yellow, and grey livery nods to the Zakspeed-built Calibra DTM era of the early ’90s.
At the rear, a vast diffuser and wing can extend to create a long-tail profile for high-speed stability on a Corsa. It’s a compact silhouette packed with full-bore race-car attitude.
Dual electric motors, one on each axle, deliver a combined 800hp for instant, all-wheel-drive thrust. In the virtual world, that means a claimed 0–60mph time of two seconds flat and none of the torque-steer drama that would plague a real-world supermini with this level of punch.
Vauxhall kept some details grounded. Inboard Bilstein dampers sit behind those box arches and are proudly on display for the chase-cam—and on the life-size show model. Kerb weight is quoted at 1,170kg despite an 82kWh battery, aided by a stripped cabin and single seat.
The wheel features paddles for regenerative braking and a red overboost button that unlocks a four-second, 10% power surge. Drivers can also tweak traction control, brake bias, and power maps just like in the game.
Availability: For Your Console, Not the Road
The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is a digital exclusive. Timing for its in-game arrival hasn’t been confirmed, but its public unveiling is expected in Munich next month. Even so, the concept signals serious intent for GSE: if even a slice reaches production, future Vauxhalls could be the most exciting in years.
