Ringbrothers has unveiled its most ambitious build yet, the Octavia, a 1971 Aston Martin DBS reborn with 805 horsepower and over 12,000 hours of craftsmanship. Debuted at Monterey Car Week, this wild restomod blends British elegance with American muscle in spectacular fashion.

Ringbrothers aston martin dbs octavia restomod 1Ringbrothers confirmed early on that Octavia would carry a much wider stance than a stock DBS, eight inches wider at the front and 10 inches at the rear.

Seeing it in the metal, though, makes the numbers almost meaningless; the transformation is dramatic. Historic DBS race cars, such as the legendary RHAM/1 “Muncher” that competed at Le Mans in 1977, look conservative by comparison.

To balance the aggressive proportions, the shop stretched the wheelbase by moving the front wheels forward three inches. The car now rides on a custom Roadster Shop chassis, giving it the foundation needed to handle its massive track width.

Despite the radical changes, the team retained the DBS’s Coke-bottle silhouette, with sharper, more muscular carbon-fiber contours that highlight the car’s newfound aggression.

That means the potential is there for even more power, though Ringbrothers already promises a driving experience that’s as visceral as it is loud.

Supporting the powertrain is an arsenal of high-end hardware: Fox RS SV coilovers, custom Ringbrothers suspension arms, Brembo brakes, and bespoke centerlock wheels developed in collaboration with Ragle Design and HRE. The wheels pay tribute to the original Aston Martin design while delivering modern strength and performance.

Finished in Double-0 Silver paint with Nuclear Olive Green accents, the car hides clever Easter eggs under the hood like custom valve covers that cheekily read “Aston Martini” and a dipstick handle shaped like a martini glass.

Traditional dials remain in place to remind the driver of the speed at hand, while the trunk is fully finished in leather and carbon, showcasing the same attention to detail found throughout the build.

A Bold Statement at Monterey Car Week

The Octavia made its debut at Monterey Car Week, one of the most prestigious stages in the automotive world. For co-founders Jim and Mike Ring, the project pushed the limits of what their shop could achieve.

Jim Ring described it as “engineering and attention to detail unlike anything we’ve done before,” while Mike Ring added:

“It’s nearly impossible to convey all the intricacies that went into engineering this car. It pushed us to innovate beyond our comfort zone and create a moving mechanical work of art. We’ve combined the ferocity of American muscle with the stiff upper lip of English motoring sophistication. ‘Octavia’ is beyond anything we’ve built before and a true celebration of the hot rodding spirit.”

With Octavia, Ringbrothers has redefined what’s possible in the world of restomods, merging British elegance with American horsepower in a package that’s equal parts brutal and beautiful.

The only question left: after a build this ambitious, what could they possibly do next?
