The 2025 Mustang RTR is here, delivering an adrenaline-packed fusion of power, style, and track-ready precision. Unveiled by RTR Vehicles, the brainchild of Ford and professional drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., this performance-focused Mustang is poised to redefine accessible motorsport thrills.

The Mustang RTR, based on the latest Mustang EcoBoost platform, will make its official debut at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show. While Ford assembles the foundation on its production line, RTR Vehicles takes over, applying its unique touch to create a machine designed to dominate both the streets and the track.

The Mustang RTR takes inspiration from the track-focused Mustang Dark Horse and incorporates some of its performance components, though RTR hasn’t yet revealed exactly which parts made the cut. It also features upgraded Brembo brakes, with calipers painted in an eye-catching Hyper Lime color, ensuring the car’s stopping power matches its dynamic capabilities. Signature RTR styling cues include a custom grille with LED-accented intake surrounds and unique design elements tailored for the seventh-generation Mustang, giving the car an unmistakable presence.

Under the hood, the Mustang RTR retains the same drivetrain as the Mustang EcoBoost, powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 315 horsepower. This power is paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, offering a balanced setup ideal for drifts, autocross circuits, and spirited backroad adventures.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his team have always been about making performance accessible, and the 2025 Mustang RTR stays true to that philosophy. Gittin Jr. described it as “pure accessible fun,” combining enhancements like components inspired by the Mustang Dark Horse, the EcoBoost’s near-perfect weight distribution, and RTR’s signature styling. The result is a car equally suited for drifting, drag racing, back-road cruising, or tearing through an autocross track.

Although RTR hasn’t disclosed the pricing yet, the company promises an affordable entry point for enthusiasts eager to hit the track. For reference, the base 2025 Mustang EcoBoost starts at $33,515, including destination charges. While the RTR version will come with a premium, it’s expected to deliver exceptional value for the performance it offers.
