They consistently set the bar higher in custom Land Cruiser builds. Their latest masterpiece is a 1989 FJ142 that has been meticulously restored and upgraded following months of dedicated work. Combining the chassis of an FZJ80 with the body of a classic FJ62, this all-new FJ142 expertly blends modern functionality with the iconic style that made the Land Cruiser a legend.

This FJ142 maintains the style of a classic 1980s-era Land Cruiser but subtly implements the performance and upgraded amenities expected from modern vehicles," comments Daniel Valjevac, owner of TLC4x4. “Combining legendary '80s style with a brand-new 430 horsepower LS3 engine will surely attract attention on the open road. We could not be more pleased with how this build turned out, as it enabled us to utilize the FZJ80's functionality of all-time four-wheel drive and modern braking components while retaining the classic style of the FJ62. It was truly the best of both worlds.

This one-of-a-kind reimagined truck is built on a powder-coated FZJ80 frame and powered by a Chevrolet Performance LS3 Connect & Cruise engine, an ideal enhancement to the FJ142’s capabilities. Stopping power comes from DBA rotors and pads, while suspension is improved with OME springs, FOX racing shocks, and Slee Off Road Sway Bar Drop Blocks. Boasting a GM Cats full stainless steel 2.5” exhaust with Magna mufflers, a Red Head steering box for precise control, and a TLC4x4 Long-Range 40 Gallon Stainless Steel fuel tank for extended adventures, this FJ142 was designed with longevity and reliability in mind.

Adorned in a striking Aventurine Green coat of Axalta Cromax XP paint, the exterior of this truck exudes rugged elegance. TLC4x4 enhancements to the FJ142 include an off-road front bumper, rear bumper with tire carrier, front fender vents, rear ¾ vents, and a Warn winch for added utility. Enhancing accessibility is AMP Research's automatic step. The truck rides confidently on 305 NV Method wheels and 33” Kenda Klever R/T tires, establishing an impressive vehicle stature. Completing the exterior upgrades, TLC4x4 opted for JW Speaker LED headlights, ensuring clear visibility both on and off-road.
