Design leads Grant Larson and Thorsten Klein shaped Rennsport-specific aero: revised intakes, shielded front flicks, ground effects, and a rear wing inspired by the Brumos Porsche 935 that won the 1978 24 Hours of Daytona.
The car combines a steel-and-aluminum composite shell with exposed carbon-fiber panels for strength and lightness.
Motorsport-Focused Exterior
This example features visible carbon-fiber bodywork with Agate Gray Metallic roof pillars and door details.
Functional items include LED headlights with color-adjustable DRLs, cameras in place of mirrors, a roof escape hatch, removable fixed side windows, and an oil-level gauge built into the right rear quarter window.
The rear boasts an LED lightbar above illuminated "Porsche" lettering, an LED rain light, and a rear diffuser feeding dual unrestricted exhaust outlets, all tuned for aerodynamic efficiency and cooling.
Wheels, Brakes, and Chassis
The Rennsport rolls on single-piece BBS 18-inch center-lock wheels (18×12.5" front, 18×13" rear) fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport competition tires. A tire-pressure monitoring system is standard.
Braking duties are handled by AP Racing slotted and ventilated discs with six-piston monobloc aluminum calipers up front and four-piston units at the rear. The system includes titanium-backed pads, dual master cylinders with adjustable bias, and Bosch Race ABS Generation 5 for race-level control.
The suspension uses a double-wishbone front layout and a multi-link rear with spherical bearings and five-way adjustable KW coilovers. Adjustable blade-style anti-roll bars, a shim adjustment system and quick jacks round out the package for rapid setup and servicing.
Stripped, Purpose-Built Interior
The cockpit is single-seat, single-minded: a Racetech racing seat trimmed in black Alcantara, a blue Schroth six-point harness, and a welded roll cage. Features include side nets with push-button release, an adjustable pedal box, Race-Tex dashboard trim, and red pull-straps on the doors.
A quick-release carbon-fiber steering wheel contains paddle shifters and controls for traction, ABS, and lighting. The Cosworth ICD digital dash provides configurable displays and full data-logging capability, perfect for tuning and post-session analysis.
Engine and Transmission — 611 Horsepower Rennsport Flat-Six
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter Type MA187 flat-six developed from the GT3 R unit. Rennsport-specific pistons, camshafts, and calibration raise compression and power, producing a factory-rated 611 horsepower on E25 bioethanol (or compatible synthetic eFuel).
Technical highlights: dry-sump lubrication, direct injection (Bosch MS 6.6), four valves per cylinder, and a carbon-fiber intake manifold feeding individual throttle bodies.
Drive is sent to the rear via a six-speed constant-mesh sequential transaxle with a mechanical limited-slip differential, single-mass flywheel and carbon clutch with electromechanical actuation.
Collector Package & Condition
A dash plaque confirms this car as number 26 of 77. The odometer displays 33 kilometers (~21 miles), and the dealer reports the car has not been driven since delivery. The sale includes a lockable numbered tool chest (with car cover, tools, and suspension shims) and a numbered portfolio containing build documents and a specifications sheet.
Because the Rennsport is a track-only machine, it is offered with a bill of sale rather than a road title. The listing is live on Bring a Trailer as part of Wob's Icons of Zuffenhausen Collection (Newbury Park, California).

Why this matters: The GT3 R Rennsport is a rare expression of Porsche's motorsport knowledge freed from homologation constraints, a collectible limited-edition Porsche that pairs modern engineering with ties to racing history.
Similar track-focused Porsches have proven their value at auction, and with only 77 units produced, the Rennsport represents a unique opportunity for serious collectors.
