The SCCA Trans Am series became famous for its grids of American muscle cars, but it's evolved over time to include more diverse vehicles, like as this 1982 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL, which is one of the items at Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida, auction set for January 6-16.

On or off the track, the NASCAR "Aero Wars" created some of the wildest-looking muscle vehicles ever.
One of those vehicles, a 1969 Dodge Daytona with a proven racing history, will be auctioned off at Mecum's 2021 Orlando event, which will take place July 29-31.

Homologation specials were common during the golden age of muscle cars, and they were used to make vehicles eligible for various types of racing.

Early on, tuner cars characterised the "Fast and Furious" brand, although muscle cars have also appeared in the series.
