Drag Racing the WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE CARS! Bugatti vs Koenigsegg vs Pagani
The world's most expensive cars are rarely up against one another on a drag strip, but here's a feast for the eyes! From the Bugatti Chiron versus the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and the Koenigsegg One:1 against the Pagani Zonda Cinque, to putting my own McLaren Senna and Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series against one another; it's all here on the runway at Gstaad Airport as part of the Supercar Owners Circle weekend! The Supercar Owners Circle weekend in Gstaad, Switzerland sees the most exclusive and rare cars in the world in attendance, with towards 100 hypercars featuring just about every model of Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani and more. Going flat out we have everything from the Chiron to LaFerrari, and One:1 to Zonda Cinque, mixed in with the Carrera GT, GFG Style 2030, Veyron Vitesse, and of course the likes of the Regera flat out. Obviously the loudest of the bunch is the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, trying its luck against a Bugatti Chiron! In attendance at SOC with two of the Shmeemobiles, the McLaren Senna and Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series, it is of course a must that we put the two up against one another to show the difference between a 'fast car' and a 'really fast car'. Giving the SLS BS a small head start, being piloted by @benzeneben, the 800hp of the Senna ultimately causes an obliteration as it flies by on the way to 270km/h (168mph). It must be said though, that the SLS sounds the absolute part thanks to the RENNtech R1 modifications. This is not a competitive and fully prepared head to head, but rather some fun during the SOC weekend. In many cases the drivers are learning their cars or doing a launch for the first time, these are privately owned vehicles to the most part and it's absolutely fantastic to see so many owners being happy to use their vehicles and for them to be shared with the audience! 2018 Koenigsegg Agera RS VS 2018 Bugatti Chiron - World’s Fastest Cars!!
The Bugatti Chiron's tite of hitting 0-400-0 kmph in 42.96 seconds could barely last a month as Koenigsegg has managed to do the same, only about six seconds faster, on a Sunday and not even with its fastest car. The whole point of records is that they are meant to be broken. It's the kind of motivation that makes the most competitive of us to step up the game for others. So, when the Bugatti Chiron went from 0-400-0 kmph in 41.96 seconds last month, all eyes were set on which car would manage to top this. That's some incredible feat anyway! However, little did Bugatti know that Swedish carmaker Koenigsegg, which broke the record earlier this week with the Koenigsegg Agera RS performing the same feat in 36.44 seconds, 5.5 seconds fewer than what Bugatti needed. Koenigsegg test driver Niklas Lilja managed to achieve the incredible feat and the record was broken at an airfield in Vandel, Denmark. Not only was the Koenigsegg Agera RS faster across in the overall acceleration and braking time, it also hit 0-400 kmph in less time than the Bugatti - 26.88 seconds versus 32.6 seconds. While you may think it was the automaker's idea to belittle Volkswagen's most priced offering; Koenigsegg says the run was made at the request of the car's owner who wanted to benchmark it against other hypercars. (Koenigsegg Agera RS makes 1360 bhp with the optional pack and 1370 Nm of torque) Interestingly, Koenigsegg Agera RS isn't the company fastest offering. That would go to the One:1. Nevertheless, the Agera RS is an absolute beast that draws power from a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. With an optional engine upgrade, the hypercar makes up to 1360 bhp of power and 1370 Nm of torque. Koenigsegg also packs in a removal roll cage in the car.
